Marilena Maniaci is full professor of Paleography at the “Università degli studi di Cassino e del Lazio meridionale” since 2005. Her main research field is the history of Greek and Latin book materials and techniques and the development of appropriate methods of analysis and description of medieval manuscripts. She published several monographs, edited volumes, journal articles and book contributions.
She has extensive experience in collaboration and coordination of national and international funded research projects and acts as scientific advisor to international research funding bodies and as referee for national and international scientific publications. She was member of the board for the qualification assessment of university professors (“Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale”, 2010-2011) and participates as an expert to the activities of the Italian national agency for the evaluation of research (ANVUR).
She serves as Vice-rector for Research at the University of Cassino since 2015.
